Let's Start at the Very Beginning

This is my first quilt.  I made it 22 years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, Katie.  I loved the little patchwork animals on this piece of fabric and paired it with a mint green flannel for the backing.  I used a coordinating blue dotted fabric for the border.  My sister Teresa and I put it up in the living room of our home and worked on it together.  We quilted around the animals.  It is a special quilt to me.  I remember her tiny quilting stitches....and how meticulous she was.  She still is, and I will post pictures of her beautiful quilts here too from time to time.  I thought this would be a fun first post.  I remember trying to bend over my pregnant belly to reach as far as I could before rolling the frames, thinking about my baby and what she would look like. She was a precious baby and has grown to be one of my best friends!  I hope this is the start of a fun blog that showcases some of the quilts I have made and future projects too!
